What is malware
The term malware is a contraction of malicious software. Malware is any piece of software that was created by teams of hackers: usually, they’re just looking to make money, either by spreading the malware themselves or selling it to the highest bidder on the Dark Web. Viruses, Trojans, spyware, and ransomware are among the different kinds of malware.
But no matter why or how malware comes to be, it’s always bad news. Malware refers to malicious software perpetrators dispatch to infect individual computers or an entire organization’s network. It exploits target system vulnerabilities, such as a bug in legitimate software (e.g., a browser or web application plugin) that can be hijacked.
A malware infiltration can be disastrous—consequences include data theft, extortion or the crippling of network systems.
